typo: *Protect Journalists edit: Reclaim The Block is no longer accepting donations ✨here’s the new list! it’s twice as long as the last two, but by no means does it cover every organization out there. as far as the categories go, I only move places from ‘accepting’ to ‘supported’ if they explicitly state this on their IG or official website (even if they’re clearly a bigger organization and likely don’t need as much support). if you aren’t sure about places I’ve listed, do more research. there’s nothing wrong with double checking. I’ve really been trying to answer every comment and DM, but at this point it’s become nearly impossible to do so with the level of attentiveness as I’d like, so thank you to everyone who has been taking the time to have productive discussions and answer questions in the comments. it’s a natural instinct to dig your heels in when challenged (esp in a public arena like IG), but we must normalize changing opinions when provided with new information. I see a lot of white ppl speculating “solutions” that black activists have already thought of and tried again and again. you may be new to activism, but black people are not. you cannot come up with a solution to something without knowing its history. if you are white and truly want radical change, plz set aside your pride + your ego. the warnings are simply that. I only list them because I want people to be more informed on the conversations happening around them that they might have missed. this post is meant to be objective + serve as a suggested guide during a time in which we are all navigating through information overload. as always, I give everyone permission to share these graphics but I ask that my original post is included so people can see any updates/edits! in addition to this list, please consider donating directly to the families of those killed by police brutality. also check out my previous post on how creatives use their skills + resources to help BLM, as I’d love to have examples sent my way so I can promote their work ✨ my band @sisterthieves is donating 100% of our bandcamp profits to @blacktranstravelfund (and Bandcamp is donating 100% to NAACP on Juneteenth)

I saw this campaign a week ago and am surprised that it has not reached its goal. Owning a restaurant is tough, and I can’t imagine how hard it is during COVID. Link in bio to the go fund me, you can also read about it here Hello All! I am Alexi Minko , the proud owner of Alibi Lounge. My bar is the only openly gay bar in Harlem, and I believe (as of 2019) I am the last black gay-bar owner in Manhattan. Originally from Gabon, I immigrated to NYC in 2006. The queer community of Harlem inspired me to create a safe heaven for everyone in the world, but especially for the LGBTQ community of Harlem My intention was to provide employment, training, and potential small business ownership skills to the LGBTQ black/latino young adults of Harlem. Alibi Lounge, in association with Strive International, created a program sponsored by the City of New York offering hospitality career training as a commitment to this goal. This ensured employment to those who achieved their training successfully. We have not gone without our own trials and tribulations. During pride of last year, Alibi Lounge endured a homophobic attack when our rainbow flag was burnt TWICE. It took two assaults on our community safe space before NYPD made an arrest. Earlier this month our shop was targeted again and our cash register was broken into. Alibi Lounge had been shut down for almost 4 months (due to the pandemic) at the time of this incident. We carried on despite adversity, exhaustion, and financial difficulties relating to COVID-19 , to remain open for almost four years! Today we need your help. Please help us continue to provide a safe, fun, and open space for ALL in Harlem, especially our LGBTQ brothers and sisters. Please help us keep our rainbow flag flying high until this pandemic ends. Your donation will help me keep my black/latino LGBTQ employees on payroll, pay rent, taxes, and utilities covering the months we quarantined. I have yet to receive any pandemic assistance- personally or for my small business. On behalf of the Alibi family, we can't thank you enough in advance for your generous contributions. Much love, Alibi Lounge

Hi friends! Was asked to share some Philly-specific resources that have educated me, helped me to listen to the voices of the Black community in Philadelphia, and lead me to take action. So I made this! I know that there are plenty more voices and resources coming out of our city and if you’d like to amplify any below that aren’t included in this list by commenting, I would greatly appreciate it. I’ve created a separate link tree with all the links mentioned here, click the link in my bio and you’ll see “Resources for Supporting Black Communities in Philadelphia” at the top of my existing link tree. Thank you! #BlackLivesMatter #BLMPhilly #Philadelphia #Philly

METRO BEHAVIORAL HEALTH NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT! MBH was founded in 2010 with the mission to provide professional mental health services to low-income, minority and immigrant community members. My dad and his coworkers extend there condolences to the Floyd family and to everyone who was affected by this tragedy. They stated that they can rebuild there clinic but cannot bring back a life, which is absolutely true! There work is very important in times like today and they want to continue to provide for the community and create a safe space for everyone! We are calling on our community to help and support us in these times of difficulty! Please share and donate whatever you can! Jazakallah Khayr, May Allah bless you all immensely❤️ Link in my bio!

“This is a fund for the community of Black Trans women that live in Atlanta and are sex workers and/or homeless.” Link in my bio to donate and share. Instagram has been deleting this so please keep posting it! The people take care of the people. Transphobia is killing trans people. People are killing trans people. We will not only say their names. We will support Black Trans women while they are alive and thriving, experiencing joy, love & life! Straight people as well as queer people are not doing nearly what they can. We are losing beautiful innocent human beings everyday. Protect Black Trans People. Use your money to fund a future you support. Fund joy, life, freedom. Fund liberation. Defund police, defund violence. And for the white queers who have ever celebrated their queerness, ever attended pride, felt joy in the LGBTQ+ community, felt freedom, felt yourself, you owe it all to Black Trans Women. Pay your dues yesterday !

EDIT: Eric Garner died in 2014. I had wrote 2017 because he died on the 17th of July. - UPDATED 6/6/20: here’s an updated list in response to my previous post that has gained a lot of popularity. after several black activists and organizers have reached out to me, I’ve decided to remove Campaign Zero from my promoted list. Alicia Garza, one of the women who coined the phrase #BlackLivesMatter, says that even after 26 criminal-justice reform laws passed in 40 states since 2013, not much as changed with police brutality. these reforms are not only unsuccessful, they’re dangerous. this “solution” allocates more funds into police departments (that are inherently violent/racist) and away from social programs, therefore both (reform vs defunding) cannot be supported simultaneously, as they are counter-intuitive. - we need to stay focused and stay vigilant. as I said previously, it’s so important to do your research (and stay up to date) on these organizations. don’t just listen to me, listen to black activists. realize that you’re going to make mistakes, and it’s not about you. - when sharing, please include my original post, as I’ll be adding edits to this caption as I get more info (I rly did not expect the last post to spread so far and screenshots without the source/context left people uninformed about updates) - anyone can DM me if they want to talk more about this or if there are any updates on these listed organizations (need funds, don’t need funds, shouldn’t get funds) that I might have missed. - as always, I’ll continue to post updates in my RESOURCES and PROTEST SAFETY highlights. I’ve also linked the national resource list in my bio. ✨

not sure what you can do? continue to educate the ppl around you. if you see someone post something offensive, call them out. if someone asks for a link, give it to them! everyone has a role in this. continue to spread accurate information and the stories of those we’ve lost and the stories of protestors! watch YouTube videos, read about theory, listen to Black voices. share the lives of Black women and Black trans folk, do not forget them in ur fight. remember, to be silent is to be complicit. . #blacklivesmatter

Resources for spending your sweet sweet 💵 on good causes. If you’re collecting a paycheck and you’ve got some left over, donate it to the cause. If you can’t attend a protest or don’t feel comfortable doing so, this is a great way to help out.

Created by community organizer @venuscuffs, The Mutual Aid Fund for Sex Workers of Color does what our government will not: it provides the basic daily necessities Black sex workers, sex workers of color, and trans sex workers need to survive. We will be matching up to $5,000 in donations to the fund, starting NOW. The fund prioritizes Black Street-based workers. Screenshot us your donation and get 15% off your next Unbound order. LET’S GET TO $10K! ⁣ ⁣ TAKE ACTION: ⁣ 🔸CashApp: $Venuscuffs (*strongly preferred*)⁣ 🔸GoFundMe via link in bio⁣ ⁣ Remember: The Mutual Aid Fund for Sex Workers of Color exists because there are no alternatives. Sex workers are ineligible for ANY kind of unemployment or federal relief. Period. Without an alternative, they currently have 2 options during this pandemic: continue working and risk contracting COVID-19, or stop working and face possible homelessness while not being able to afford food or any other necessities. ⁣ ⁣ Black sex workers, sex workers of color, and trans sex workers of color face unique challenges, especially during this pandemic. And we cannot be anti-racist without standing with and fighting alongside them. ⁣ ⁣ Link in bio to or CashApp $Venuscuffs to donate!

I’ve been trying to stay off social media for most of the last year for my own state of mind. But this last week has demonstrated how essential this space can be when used in the service of a vital cause. I am using and will continue to use the internet to stay informed, listen, educate myself and donate to organizations fighting for racial justice. I encourage you to do the same, and assume most of you already are. I’m not going to give a speech here because your time would be better spent reading someone else’s speech or following the link in my bio to donate. But i will say it is so so so good to see so much of the internet united in pursuit of something real and necessary. We should do this more often. #blacklivesmatter (image from @allthingseka)
